Parkview Baptist Senior Session | Eddie’s Tennis-Inspired Senior Portraits at The Legacy at Bonne Esperance

Some senior sessions just feel easy in the best possible way. The weather cooperates, the light turns golden at exactly the right moment, and everyone shows up ready to celebrate a really special season of life. Eddie’s senior session was exactly that.

We met at The Legacy at Bonne Esperance — Eddie’s home court and a place that already holds so many memories for him. As a graduating senior at Parkview Baptist School, tennis has been a huge part of his story, so it only made sense to build the session around the sport he loves most.

And honestly? It couldn’t have fit him more perfectly.

A smiling young boy relaxes on metal bleachers wearing an oversized blue satin graduation gown outdoors.

Eddie recently closed out his senior year with a regional victory on the court, which made this session feel even more meaningful. We leaned into both sides of who he is — the athlete who has spent countless hours practicing under those court lights and the laid-back senior stepping into his next chapter.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was how involved the whole family was. His dad, who is both a teacher at Parkview and one of the tennis coaches, was there cheering him on. His mom stayed close by soaking it all in and helping with ideas throughout the session, and his little sister happily volunteered to feed him tennis balls for the action shots, which honestly made for some of the most fun moments of the night.

Those little behind-the-scenes moments always matter to me. They’re part of the story too.

We mixed classic senior portraits with movement and action to keep the session feeling authentic to Eddie. Instead of forcing overly posed moments, we focused on things that felt natural — walking the court, casually tossing a tennis ball, serving under the evening sun, and incorporating meaningful details like his racket, regional bracket, class ring, and cap and gown.

The result was a gallery that felt both polished and personal.

There’s something especially meaningful about photographing seniors in spaces that already belong to them. Whether it’s a football field, dance studio, family ranch, theater stage, or tennis court, those locations instantly bring comfort, confidence, and personality into the images. Eddie didn’t have to pretend to be anyone else during this session. He simply got to show up as himself.

And that’s always where the magic lives.

As the sun dropped lower, the entire session shifted into that dreamy golden light photographers chase constantly here in Louisiana. The warm tones, long shadows, and soft glow across the courts gave everything a nostalgic, celebratory feeling — the kind of evening that feels suspended in time for just a little while.

It was the perfect way to celebrate not only Eddie’s graduation from Parkview Baptist School, but also the years of hard work, practices, matches, family support, and dedication that helped shape him into who he is today.

Congratulations, Eddie. Your future is bright, and it was such an honor to document this season for you.
