The Creative Edit | MARCH 2026

Real. Timeless. Emotive

Spring in Louisiana doesn’t tiptoe in.

One week the trees are bare, and the next everything is green again. The days get brighter, the azaleas start showing off, and for a short window the weather is actually perfect for being outside.

Before long, the heat and humidity will take over — but right now is one of the most beautiful seasons for portraits.

March is already filling with family sessions, heirloom portraits, and seniors getting ready for graduation, and I’m excited to finally get back behind the camera after a February that required more rescheduling than I would have liked.

If you’ve been thinking about booking portraits this year, this is a wonderful time to start planning.

Heirloom Portraits: A Tradition Worth Keeping

Some portraits are meant to live on your phone.  Heirloom portraits are meant to live on your walls.

Inspired by traditional portraiture, heirloom sessions focus on simplicity — beautiful lighting, classic styling, and an intentional approach that creates images designed to last for generations.

These portraits highlight your child’s personality and features without distraction, resulting in artwork that feels timeless, elegant, and deeply personal.

Families often begin heirloom portraits when their children are young and continue the tradition as they grow — creating a collection that becomes part of their family history.

If you’ve ever admired the classic portraits hanging in a grandparent’s home, you understand the magic of this tradition.

Spring Portrait Season

March and April offer one of the best windows for portraits in south Louisiana.

The temperatures are still comfortable, the light is bright and clean, and the landscape is just beginning to turn that vibrant spring green.

Family sessions, maternity portraits, and couples sessions all shine this time of year — before summer heat and humidity make outdoor sessions far less forgiving.

This season fills quickly because the window is short.

If spring portraits are on your list this year, now is the time to reserve your date.

Seniors — There's Still Time

Graduation is getting close, but there’s still time to create a senior session that reflects who your senior truly is.

Whether they’re athletic, creative, adventurous, or simply want something relaxed and natural, senior sessions are designed to feel personal and authentic.

You don’t have to schedule your session immediately — you simply need to reserve your spot on the calendar.

Looking Ahead

March is shaping up to be a full and exciting month, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of these sessions with you soon.

In the meantime, if you’ve been thinking about booking a session this spring, I’d love to start planning with you.

Warmly,

Nicole
