The Creative Edit | JULY2026
Real. Timeless. Emotive

Summer has been full of milestones, wagging tails, confetti, happy tears, and a whole lot of storytelling. From birthday celebrations and growing families to magazine features and engagement sessions, it's been one of those months that reminds me why I love what I do.
Here's a little peek at what I've been creating lately—and what's coming up next at A Creative Photo.

AVERY TUrnS 23
Who says birthday photos are just for kids?
Avery wanted something that felt like her, so we started in the studio with confetti, laughter, and all the celebration vibes before moving into my vintage home office for a moodier, editorial feel. It was two completely different looks in one session, and together they perfectly captured this exciting season of life.
I absolutely love when clients celebrate milestones that might otherwise pass undocumented. Every year is worth remembering.
caabr'S FURBALL GALA SILENT AUCTION WINNER
One of my favorite sessions this month was finally photographing Erin and her sweet pup, Reggie, after she won my donated portrait session at Companion Animal Alliance's (CAABR) annual Furball fundraiser.
This was my first year supporting Furball with a charitable donation, and it was such a rewarding experience that I've already committed to donating another portrait session for the 2027 fundraiser. It's a small way to support the incredible work Companion Animal Alliance does for animals in our community while helping celebrate the special bond between people and their pets.
We spent the evening wandering the LSU Hilltop Arboretum, soaking up the beautiful golden light while documenting the quiet, everyday love between Erin and Reggie. There were plenty of cuddles, happy smiles, and more than a few treats involved. Sessions like this are a beautiful reminder that our pets are family, and they deserve to be part of our stories too.
COMING SOON TO STROLL JPB
The August issue of Stroll Jefferson Place & Bocage will be arriving in neighborhood mailboxes at the end of July, and I can't wait for everyone to meet this month's featured family!
With the dog days of summer in full swing, it seemed only fitting that their four-legged family member joined in on the fun. From playful moments to quiet snuggles, this session was a beautiful reminder that our pets are just as much a part of our family story as anyone else.
I won't spoil the full gallery just yet, but I can't wait to share more once the August issue is out. Keep an eye on your mailbox—and if you're not in Jefferson Place or Bocage, be sure to follow along on social media to see the full story.
BABY LOLA STAR
One of the sweetest celebrations this month was Baby Lola Star's gender reveal.
Being invited into these moments before a little one arrives is always such an honor. The excitement, anticipation, and joy are impossible to fake, and those genuine emotions are what make these sessions so meaningful.
Now I get to look forward to documenting another chapter of their story during Mom's upcoming maternity session!
iN THE EDITING ROOM
Currently on my editing desk is a fun engagement session I photographed in New Orleans back in May. Between the French Quarter charm, moody weather, vintage inspired AirBnB, and an amazing couple, this gallery has been such a joy to revisit.
I can't wait to share it with you very soon.
LOOKING AHEAD
The next couple of months are already filling up with exciting sessions! I'll be photographing another wonderful Stroll Jefferson Place & Bocage family for the September issue as we kick off football season. Another beautiful maternity session is on the calendar for August, and I can't wait to document another growing family's story.

NOW BOOKING FALL SESSIONS
Fall is one of my favorite times of year to photograph families, and my calendar is officially open!
I'm now booking:
- Class of 2027 Senior Portraits
- Fall Family Sessions
- Holiday Card Portraits
If you're hoping to have updated family photos in time for holiday cards, I encourage you to reserve your session early. October and early November are by far my most popular months for family portraits, thanks to the beautiful fall light and perfect timing for holiday cards and gifts. Those dates tend to fill quickly each year, so booking now gives you the best selection of dates.
If you've been thinking about scheduling your session, I'd love to help you tell your family's story this fall.
Until next month,
Nicole
