The Creative Edit | MAY 2026
Real. Timeless. Emotive

May always seems to arrive with momentum — and this year is no exception.
April was beautifully full, with nearly every weekend booked behind the camera, and May is already shaping up much the same. As a small business owner, seasons like this never go unnoticed. I’m deeply grateful for every family, senior, and client who trusts me to document such meaningful chapters of their lives.
Spring sessions have been in full swing, galleries have been delivered, and the variety this season has brought has been especially inspiring — from timeless heirloom portraits to seniors celebrating major milestones, to creatively unique family sessions that push storytelling in exciting new ways.
Here’s a little look at what April held and what’s still ahead as we move into another busy, beautiful month.

Destinee’s Long-Awaited Family Session at the Arboretum
After plenty of reschedules, I finally met up with Destinee, her partner, and their sweet pup Bud for a gorgeous spring session at the LSU Hilltop Arboretum that was delivered at the beginning of April.
This session was such a reminder that family portraits don’t have to fit a traditional mold — dogs are family too. Bud absolutely stole the show, charming just about everyone who passed by, and the entire session was filled with soft spring light, sweet moments, and plenty of personality.
Senior Spotlight: Tennis, Talent & Big Milestones
April also brought an especially fun senior session with an accomplished high school senior whose tennis achievements played a major role in shaping his session.
We leaned heavily into his love of the sport, creating portraits that celebrated not just graduation, but years of dedication, discipline, and success on the court. Personalized sessions like this are always incredibly rewarding because they tell a fuller story of who each senior truly is.
On Deck for May
This month is bringing even more creativity:
- A California-inspired senior session celebrating a senior’s acceptance to UC Irvine
- An editorial-style family session for a local bar owner, highlighting both his family and business
- Another exciting silent auction winner session from CAA annual Furball.
I’m especially excited about the diversity these upcoming sessions bring — blending storytelling, personality, and meaningful milestones in fresh ways.
Hot Springs with the Pups
In between the busy season, we managed to sneak away for a much-needed April getaway to Hot Springs — and it was exactly what we needed.
We spent our days:
- Walking Bathhouse Row
- Enjoying a mineral soak
- Exploring the breathtaking Garvan Woodland Gardens
- Eating incredible food
- Giving the pups plenty of space to run and enjoy the fresh air
It was the perfect mix of rest, inspiration, and quality time before diving headfirst into another packed season.

Looking Ahead
As May fills quickly, I’m entering this month feeling incredibly thankful. This spring has already been such a beautiful reminder that photography is about so much more than images — it’s about preserving legacy, celebrating accomplishments, documenting connection, and telling stories that matter.
Thank you, as always, for being here, supporting my work, and allowing me to do what I love most.
Here’s to a full and meaningful May!
Warmly,
Nicole
